Sign-in and accounts
Sign in to onemind with an email address and password or with a Google account; this page covers every sign-in path, account creation, the workspace chooser, device and AI-tool authorization, and display preferences.
Sign in with email
Sign-in begins with your email address. BETA determines from that address whether to show a password prompt, a verification code, or an account-creation form.
- Open the BETA sign-in page in a browser. In the macOS app, start from its sign-in window instead (below).
- Enter your email address and press Continue.
- Depending on your account:
- Existing account: enter your password and press Sign in.
- New or unrecognized address: enter the verification code sent to that address, then create a password to complete your account.
- After a successful sign-in, BETA opens your workspace.
New account passwords must be 8 to 128 characters and include at least one letter and one number. Verification codes expire; request a new one if yours is no longer accepted.
Sign in from the macOS app
When you are signed out, the macOS app opens a small sign-in window instead of the website. The intro film plays silently beside it.
- Click Sign in. onemind.team opens in your default browser.
- Sign in there with email or Google and approve this Mac. The window shows Continue in your browser while it waits.
- When you approve, the window grows into the full app and opens your workspace.
If the browser tab is lost, click Open browser again. Click Cancel to stop waiting. Use the round buttons beside the logo to change the window's language or display mode. Signing out returns you to this window.
If you can't sign in, click Send feedback under Sign in. Enter an email address we can reply to and describe the problem; it goes to the onemind team's feedback inbox.
Sign in with Google
When Google sign-in is available, a Google button appears directly below the email form after an or separator.
- On the sign-in page, click the Google button below the email form.
- Complete the Google sign-in in the pop-up or redirect.
- If the Google email matches an existing email-and-password account, a Password required screen appears. Enter your existing password to link the Google account and continue.
On the web, if you are already signed in to Google in the same browser and the email field is empty, a Continue as [your name] prompt may appear automatically. Click it to sign in without entering your email.
Reset a forgotten password
If you cannot remember your password, reset it from the password step.
- On the password step, click Forgot password?.
- Confirm your email address and click Send reset code.
- Enter the verification code sent to that address.
- Enter a new password (8 to 128 characters, at least one letter and one number) and confirm it.
Recovery codes expire. If your code is rejected, return to the sign-in page and start the flow again.
Choose or create a Matrix
After sign-in, if you have any team membership, the Choose a Matrix screen appears. It lists your existing workspaces — including your personal [your name]'s Matrix — and options to create or join a team.
To open an existing workspace, click its name.
To create a new team:
- Click Create a Matrix.
- Enter a Matrix name (up to 30 characters).
- Click Continue to confirm.
To join a team with an invitation:
- Click Join a Matrix.
- Enter the invitation code you received and click Continue.
To switch your workspace after sign-in, open Settings and click Switch Matrix in the settings navigation area. The same chooser appears.
Authorize the CLI or an AI tool
Authorizing the CLI or macOS app
When the CLI or the macOS app requests authorization, it opens a browser page titled Authorize Mac.
- Sign in on the page if you are not already signed in.
- Review This Mac — the device that made the request.
- Click Authorize this Mac to approve, or Deny to reject.
- After approval, click Return to App. The CLI or app activates automatically.
If the request has already expired or is no longer valid, an error message explains the reason. Return to the app and start a new authorization.
Authorizing an AI tool (OAuth)
When an AI tool requests an onemind connection, BETA opens an authorization screen titled Connect onemind.
- Sign in if prompted.
- Review the tool name, the team it is connecting to, and the list of Requested permissions.
- Click Connect onemind to grant access, or Cancel to reject.
Each permission listed corresponds to one of the following capabilities:
| Permission | What it allows the tool to do |
|---|---|
| Read machine and AI-tool sync status | Check which devices and tools are connected |
| Read BETA Minds, approved content, and pending updates | Read the team's Minds |
| Create active BETA Minds immediately and submit content updates for review | Write new Minds and propose changes |
| Read your Matrix's approved AI memory | Read the team's shared AI memory |
| Request sync on your connected devices | Trigger a sync on your devices |
| Read Matrix Projects and pending edits | Read Projects and their pending changes |
| Create Projects and submit Project edits | Create Projects and propose edits |
| Approve or reject pending Project edits | Manage Project edit approvals |
| Check assigned Project file freshness and refresh status | Check whether Project files are current |
| Request approval to refresh an assigned Project file | Ask for a Project file to be refreshed |
If the tool requests Create Projects and submit Project edits, an extra notice explains that on a Personal single-owner account, Project edits may publish immediately without a separate approval step.
Language and display mode
Language
onemind supports five interface languages: English, 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese), 繁體中文 (Traditional Chinese), 日本語 (Japanese), and 한국어 (Korean).
To change the language before signing in, use the language selector on the sign-in page. The page reads the language from a URL parameter if one is set, then falls back to your browser or system language.
After signing in, change the language in Settings > Preferences > UI language.
Display mode
Choose Light, Dark, or Automatic on the sign-in page or in Settings > Preferences > Display mode. Automatic follows your system setting. The preference is saved across sessions; it may reset if you clear browser storage or use a private window.
Side drawer
The main navigation side drawer can be collapsed or expanded. Click Fold navigation to collapse it or Expand navigation to restore it. The state is not persisted across page loads. On viewports 760 px wide or narrower, the drawer becomes a bottom tab bar with five tabs: Matrix, Team, Mind, Inbox, and More.
Sign out
To sign out, open Settings and click Sign out in the settings navigation area. A confirmation dialog appears with the title Sign out of onemind?. Click Sign out to confirm, or Cancel to stay signed in. If sign-out fails, the dialog shows a retry message and your session remains active.
